This measure looks at whether the daily schedule demonstrates a balance of both teacher- and child-initiated planned daily activities. Scheduled parts of the day when the teacher will typically lead the instruction including circle time, story time, and small group. Scheduled parts of the day when children will have free choice include tummy time, centers, and free play. See measure P-IFAL-01 for examples of teacher-directed and child-directed activities.
