S-FI-02: Collaboration Regarding Challenging Behaviors

This measure determines if there is a policy for collaboration with the parent or family to address a challenging behavior exhibited by a child. The policy or process should include teachers or directors having ongoing conversations with parents to express concerns and discuss strategies for addressing challenging behaviors. Conversations must be framed around school readiness, and parents must be informed of their child’s progress. Proper documentation of such policies may be included in the parent orientation or parent handbook.
